We are a family owned and operated company with roots in the craftsmanship and artistry of the wooden

boatbuilding trade. Paul Sherwood and his family moved to Virginia in 1977 to embrace his love of woodworking

and boat building. More then 20 years ago Sherwood Boatbuilding transitioned into Contemporary Kitchens ltd as

the demand for traditional wooden boats began to fall off. Today the business is run by his two sons.

As custom woodworkers we offer an extensive line of products but specialize in frameless cabinetry. We use the

finest materials and the most advanced finishes available to us. The craftsmen who take the initial

measurements at your house also fabricate and install the project. This enables a level of quality control that is

second to none. From traditional to contemporary, simple to exotic, our products will suit your vision and stand

head and shoulders above generic “off the shelf” cabinets. What we do cannot be ordered out of a catalog.
